Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 1 January 2025  ·  Version 1.0  ·  Governing law: Kingdom of Denmark
These Terms govern access to and use of the ScanLab DK network scanning platform. By submitting a registration application or using the platform you agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not register or use the platform.

1Definitions

"Platform" means the ScanLab DK web application, API, and associated infrastructure operated by ScanLab DK.

"Organisation" means the legal entity that applies for and holds an account on the Platform.

"Authorised User" means any individual granted access to the Platform under an Organisation account.

"Scan" means a network probe, port scan, or host discovery operation initiated through the Platform.

"Authorised IP Range" means any IP address, CIDR prefix, or network range that the Organisation has declared during registration and that has been approved by ScanLab DK.

2Eligibility & Account Approval

The Platform is a business-to-business (B2B) service intended exclusively for legal entities — companies, organisations, and public bodies. Registration is not available to private individuals acting in a personal capacity. By applying for access, you confirm that you are doing so on behalf of a legal entity and are authorised to bind that entity to these Terms.

Access to the Platform is granted on an invitation basis following a manual review of each registration application. Submitting an application does not guarantee access. ScanLab DK reserves the right to approve or reject any application at its sole discretion, without obligation to provide a reason.

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of the Organisation you register.

3Commercial Communications

Upon approval of a registration application, Zencurity will send a commercial offer for the Platform to the Organisation's registered administrators. A follow-up offer will be sent as the 14-day trial period approaches its end. In total, the Organisation will receive no more than two commercial communications of this nature, directed only to the organisational administrators registered at the time of each sending.

The Platform is available on a 14-day free trial, after which continued access requires a monthly or annual subscription. Monthly subscriptions are billed on a rolling basis with no minimum commitment. Organisations that opt for an annual subscription receive a two-month discount, equivalent to 10 months billed at the monthly rate.

4Acceptable Use — Network Scanning

Scanning IP addresses or networks that you do not own or have explicit written authorisation to scan is illegal under Danish and EU law and may result in immediate account termination and referral to law enforcement.

You agree that:

  • You will only initiate Scans against IP ranges that are listed in your account as Authorised IP Ranges.
  • All Authorised IP Ranges you submitted during registration are networks that you own outright or hold documented written authorisation to scan from the network owner.
  • You will not attempt to scan, probe, or enumerate any IP address or network not covered by your Authorised IP Ranges.
  • You will not use the Platform to conduct denial-of-service attacks, brute-force attacks, vulnerability exploitation, or any other offensive security activity beyond passive port and host discovery.
  • You will not use the Platform to scan critical national infrastructure, government networks, or any network where scanning is explicitly prohibited by law.
  • You will promptly notify ScanLab DK if you become aware that any of your Authorised IP Ranges have been transferred, sold, or are no longer under your control.

ScanLab DK operates a fair-use policy for scan volume. As a guideline, Organisations may initiate up to 100 scans per calendar month. Usage significantly exceeding this threshold may be reviewed, and ScanLab DK reserves the right to rate-limit, suspend, or adjust access on a case-by-case basis following such a review.

5Account Responsibilities

The Organisation is responsible for all activity that occurs under its account, including the actions of all Authorised Users. You must:

  • Keep login credentials and API keys confidential and revoke any that may have been compromised.
  • Ensure that Authorised Users are aware of and comply with these Terms.
  • Use a valid, monitored email address as the account contact so that ScanLab DK can reach you if necessary.
  • Not share, sell, or transfer account access to third parties.

6Data & Privacy

ScanLab DK processes the following data in order to provide the service: organisation name and contact details, IP addresses and CIDR ranges submitted for scanning, scan results (open ports, host status), API key metadata, and usage logs.

Scan results are stored on the Platform and are accessible only to Authorised Users within your Organisation and to ScanLab DK platform administrators. ScanLab DK does not sell or share your scan data with third parties, except where required by law.

All data is processed in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Danish data protection law. The Organisation is the data controller for any personal data contained within submitted IP ranges; ScanLab DK acts as a data processor for such data.

7API Keys

The Platform issues API keys to authenticate programmatic access. Each API key is tied to a specific user and Organisation. You are responsible for ensuring that API keys are stored securely and are not included in publicly accessible code repositories or configuration files.

ScanLab DK reserves the right to revoke any API key that is suspected to be compromised or used in violation of these Terms, without prior notice.

8Suspension & Termination

ScanLab DK may suspend or terminate an Organisation's access to the Platform, with or without notice, if:

  • The Organisation or any Authorised User breaches these Terms.
  • ScanLab DK reasonably suspects unauthorised, abusive, or illegal use of the Platform.
  • Required by applicable law or court order.
  • The Organisation's account has been inactive for an extended period.

The Organisation may terminate its account at any time by contacting ScanLab DK. Upon termination, all scan data associated with the account may be permanently deleted.

9Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is". ScanLab DK makes no warranties, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of scan results.

To the maximum extent permitted by Danish law, ScanLab DK's total liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of the Platform shall not exceed the fees paid by the Organisation in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

ScanLab DK shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or reputational harm.

10Changes to These Terms

ScanLab DK may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be notified via the email address associated with your account at least 14 days in advance.

11Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Denmark. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved by negotiation shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Denmark.
